In the "Ingegneri Zuccolo Costruzioni" company, a structural design studio, certified ISO 9001, we have joined all our professional experience over the generations, maturing in projects and realisations of public works. The first experience we had in this sector was half-way through the 18th century when Giacomo Zuccolo received his degree with full marks in Padova in Architecture and Engineering in 1832. In 1942 Giacomo Zuccolo, grandson of the same name, started the SALC SpA, a general building company which rapidly grew over the decades obtaining jobs in Italy and abroad of particular technical importance. The activity of the Company is mainly concentrated on the projecting and realisation of:
- Prestressed concrete and steel bridges and viaducts
- Steel structures
- Civil and industrial buildings
- Hydraulic works
- The restoration of historic buildings
The owndership and management of SALC remained in the hands of the "Zuccolo Engineers" up until the end of the 1980s, making use, from the beginning of the 1960s, of the guidance, designs, supervision and international patents of Giorgio Zuccolo. The cooperation of the ex-personnel of SALC, the contribution given by Gabriele Zuccolo since the 1990s, who received his degree with maximum marks and accademic mention, and the continuity given by the top management have therefore allowed "Ingegneri Zuccolo Costruzioni" to confidently offer their services, safe in the knowledge of being backed up by a substantial and wide ranging technical expertise and practical experience gained over the course of fifty years. The direct experience of realising projects represents a requirement, which is in our view quite indispensable, to be able to consider projects as if they are works of art. This experience in fact results in a synthesis of "theoretical" scientific conceptions and "hands-on" concrete knowledge which all condition and address project choices.
In an environment of apparently everchanging design approaches and construction techniques, tradition in fact offers an important guarantee and a bridge to the future. This web-site illustrates some of the more signficant works projected and directed by the Ingegneri Zuccolo in the past 50 years. |
